African DANCE DIASPORA: A Symposium on Embodied Knowledge

Friday, March 25th, 2011: 3-9pm Saturday, March 26th, 2011: 9:30am-10pm; with a dance celebration of Afro-diasporic culture by Uhuru Afrika, 10 pm-1am.  Sunday, March 27th, 2011: 10am-1:30pm  All events will take place at:Lowell Lecture Hall, Harvard University7 Kirkland St. (enter on Oxford St.), Cambridge, MA 02138 Uhuru Afrika Dance Celebration will be at:Cambridge Queen’s HeadHarvard University 45 Quincy Street, Cambridge, MA 02138

Free and open to the public. 

African DANCE DIASPORA is a symposium that will gather nationally and internationally recognized scholars, dancers, and musicians to perform and discuss embodied knowledge in the context of the African Diaspora, where embodied knowledge and bodily practice figure powerfully in human life ways, social organization, and systems of belief.
