Verónica Metello

Art Historian, Art consultant, Project Manager and a Researcher at CEIS XX - Coimbra University.
Verónica Metello holds an MA in History of Art from Universidade Nova, Lisbon in 2007, with a thesis centered on the definition of the concept “performance mechanism” and its expression in the Portuguese art in the years comprised between 1961 and 1979. Her research has been focused for the last years in Experience as a category in philosophy and contemporary art.
Verónica Metello has curated and participated in several exhibition/ projects on the last years, worked as a curator independent and as a curator for Artech International. She worked as counselor/project manager for CIAC:Universidade Aberta/Universidade do Algarve. Verónica Metello worked for the General Directorate of The Arts of the Ministry of Culture of Portugal (DGArtes) from 2004-2008, and at Galeria Graça Brandão. From 2006 to 2007 Ms. Metello was lecturer at the Post-Graduation in Cultural Communication at the Universidade Católica of Lisbon; at the Post Graduation “The State of the World” at the Universidade Nova, Lisbon, and at the MA in Visual Communication at the Design School - IADE, Lisbon. As an essayist, Metello´s work has been published by Serralves Foundation, Artech International, CACAO Europa, COMA editions amongst others.
Metello´s experience in the art market started in 2009 at Graça Brandão Art Gallery as director’s assistant and continues with her project The Grand Tour: Private Consultancy for art lovers and collectors.
